Nearly fifteen hundred AmeriCorps members are involved in intensive service to meet critical needs in communities across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

If you would like to

Help in your community,
Gain hands-on experience while making a real difference in someone’s life,
And earn money for college,

You can be an AmeriCorps member.

Two different programs provide service opportunities for AmeriCorps members in Massachusetts:

AmeriCorps*State and National offers service opportunities of all kinds in programs throughout the Commonwealth. Members help address unmet community needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment. Members serve full- or part-time for 9-12 months or during the summer, up to 2 years. Your service might include restoring parks, tutoring youth, assisting crime victims, or building homes.

AmeriCorps*VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) is dedicated to eliminating poverty by helping individuals and low-income neighborhoods make positive changes for themselves. Members work to fight illiteracy, improve health services, create businesses, increase housing opportunities, or bridge the digital divide. When you complete your service as a VISTA member, you will leave behind lasting solutions to some of our state’s toughest problems.
