The Massachusetts Service Alliance held the Massachusetts Conference on Service and Volunteering on May 23, 2011 at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center. Over 350 volunteers, executives, and managers from the service and volunteerism sector convened for a day of learning, dialogue, and  connection!

The Opening Session featured a welcome by State Senator Karen Spilka (D-Ashland, Framingham), along with inspiring remarks by Springfield High School of Commerce Adjustment Counselor Pamela Dugas and her student Sasha Soto who discussed the profound impact AmeriCorps members, volunteers, and nonprofits have on addressing needs in their community. The event concluded with a keynote address by Shirley Sagawa, a leading expert on national service policy.
