Boston Cares organizes and leads team-oriented volunteer opportunities and services in and around Boston that have a positive impact on individuals and communities. Boston Cares offers a wide array of programs and opportunities that make it easy for you to volunteer no matter how busy your schedule is. Each month they manage more than 200 direct service volunteer projects through the calendar program.

Cape Cod Volunteers links people with meaningful opportunities for volunteering on Cape Cod. They do this by informing Cape Codders about the many volunteer opportunities, programs, and agencies that exist in the community, and by helping people identify their own interests, skills, and passion for service to the community.

Dial/Self, Inc. and the ACT Volunteer Center
The ACT Volunteer Center is dedicated to helping their community through volunteerism by finding volunteer opportunities for community members that fit their schedules, interests, and experiences. ACT also strives to help local nonprofits by providing volunteers who are reliable, dedicated, and capable.

AmeriCorps Alums Boston Chapter is a community of experienced volunteer leaders who share a commitment to a vision of a more perfect America. Its mission is to fully realize the potential of national service alumni as leaders in communities and strives to get alumni connected, equipped, and engaged in order to foster their natural leadership drive and potential.

Massachusetts AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization that helps people 50 and over improve the quality of their lives. Through the Create the Good program, AARP has a created a site where good people get connected to opportunities to make a positive impact.

Massachusetts Campus Compact (MACC) is a nonprofit coalition of college and university presidents committed to developing the civic skills of students, building partnerships with the community, and integrating civic engagement with teaching and research.

Mass Mentoring Partnership is the only statewide organization solely dedicated to strategically expanding quality youth mentoring in Massachusetts. As the umbrella organization for more than 165 mentoring programs across the state, MMP provides them with training, technical assistance, networking, advocacy, recruitment support and resources.

Northern Berkshire Community Coalition improves the quality of life for people in Northern Berkshire by organizing, supporting, and empowering the community. The Coalition works to achieve its mission by providing a public place for the community; managing the Communities Mobilizing for Change on Alcohol program; building stronger neighborhoods; and promoting positive youth development.

Senior Corps meet the needs and challenges of America’s communities by tapping the rich experience, skills, and talents of the 55+ Population and providing grants and other resources for three special programs including:

Foster Grandparents connects volunteers age 55 and over with children and young people with exceptional needs.

The Senior Companion Program brings together volunteers age 55 and over with adults in their community who have difficulty with the simple tasks of day-to-day living.

RSVP offers "one stop shopping" for all volunteers 55 and over who want to find challenging, rewarding, and significant service opportunities in their local communities.

United Way

United Way of Central Massachusetts connects people and resources convening local resources - donors, volunteers, partners and agencies - to address the most critical human needs and create measurable results in the community.

United Way of Greater New Bedford brings people from all across the region – local businesses, volunteer groups, nonprofits and concerned citizens – together to tackle community issues.

United Way of Greater Plymouth County increases the organized capacity of people in the Plymouth County area to care for themselves and for one another.

United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley brings communities together to help improve people’s lives and strengthen the neighborhoods in the region.

United Way of North Central Massachusetts strengthens volunteerism by providing tools, awareness and training to community organizations that depend on volunteerism for their success.

United Way of Pioneer Valley mobilizes people and resources to strengthen the community by bringing together people to build prosperity by Advancing the Common Good.

United Way of Tri-County is a community building organization that brings people together to care for one another. They raise funds, connect volunteers, strengthen agencies, teach social responsibility, and meet the critical needs of the community.

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Programs offer free tax help to low- to moderate-income (generally, $49,000 and below) people who cannot prepare their own tax returns. Certified volunteers sponsored by various organizations receive training to help prepare basic tax returns in communities across the country. VITA sites are generally located at community and neighborhood centers, libraries, schools, shopping malls, and other convenient locations.
