Happy Tuesday! Did you know that the Commonwealth Corps Internship Program is recruiting for 2023-2024 — and that if you’re interested in helping with member development during the year, we have a paid, open fellow position here at MSA?
Commonwealth Corps in a Nutshell
Commonwealth Corps is a state-funded internship program, open to Massachusetts residents of all ages. By taking on a year of service, you can gain professional skills and valuable knowledge while positively impacting diverse communities in our state. Full- and half-time service positions are available here, with several new positions recently added.
Boston Cares recruits, trains, and deploys individual and corporate volunteers who strengthen communities and improve the lives of people in need. English for New Bostonians (ENB) invests in the future of our region by fostering a high-quality ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) system that prepares immigrants to pursue educational, economic and civic aspirations. The two organizations have partnered as “Allies for Immigrants,” recently posting two new Commonwealth Corps Program Outreach Coordinator positions!
These coordinators will support the growth and development of the Allies program by recruiting, training and supporting volunteer ESOL tutors, and developing systems and tools to facilitate stronger engagement, including continued development of the Allies Peer Leadership Program to build sustainable capacity.
We were so lucky to have a Commonwealth Corps Fellow role filled for last year’s cycle, and we’re opening up the position again this year! If you or someone you know might be a good fit, please don’t hesitate to take a look at the description and apply. Applications are being considered on a rolling basis.
